Khader's (Old City Jerusalem) 12/2011
A few doors up the road from Abu Shukri we stopped for a coffee at an Armenian pizzeria. Between making these pizza's which start life as a pastry dish and are cooked with a soup like topping, and crushing pomegranates for fresh juice the proprietor produced a range of Armenian sweets. Two were pastries stuffed with figs, one with anise in the pastry. The contrast with the computer game parlor across the road and the old city is striking.
